Solar system sizes
Solar systems come in varying sizes, measured in kilowatts (kW), with the most popular solar system in Australia being the 5kW system. This will provide enough energy during the day to power an average home, that’s the fridge, washing machine, dish washer, cooker, lights, tv, computers, hairdryers and so on. At night, you import electricity from your energy retailer as solar panels only work during daylight hours, unless you have a battery – see batteries here.
